Take a plunge down memory lane, to the early 2000s, to a pass when some enthusiasts expressed themselves in ways that might rock us today. Big bodykits were in, anime characters were plastered on the sides of show cars, and disc wells were even filled with cotton. Yes, cotton. The "JDM" basis had little meaning, and those who knew of it remained strictly resistance. Fast-forward to present day and things are unique. Car-show models have aged and body kits are all but shunned upon preserve for those produced by a few select well-known Japanese tuning companies. It's almost as if today's Hondas must be equipped with OEM, Japanese-market-place parts or forever be deemed "ricers." But such trends didn't emanate during the last decade. No, they've been around since the cars themselves debuted. So is it admissible for a build to transcend time? What happens to those projects that weren't willy-nilly built to be "period correct," but rather were built during the full stop they're perceived to be imitating?
